"Mount Evans, Colorado"

Mount Evans is a 14,000 foot / 4,300 meter peak on the front range of the Colorado that is visible for most of the people living in the Denver metro area. It is one of the few peaks anywhere that you can drive your car to the approximate summit and then scramble the few remaining meters to the actual summit to gaze across the dramatic vistas of the Rockies. Mount Evans is one of fifty-four, 14,000 foot peaks in Colorado and it was my first "Fourteeener" when I was a child vacationing in Colorado with my parents.

Big Horn Sheep and Dahl Mountain Goats are often sighted on the slopes as your rise above tree line. Mount Evans is a great day trip from Denver and/or if you are in impeccable physical condition it is hard bicycle climb followed by an exhilarating zoom down.

This photo was taken while I was teaching a photo workshop which on the whole is unusual as I usually can't concentrate on my own photography while teaching.

This image was featured in my one man show in Denver as a 13" x 19" / 33cm x 48cm digital print. Prints available for purchase. These images are copyrighted and may not be used, re-posted or reproduced without direct written permission.
